Fingertip searches were carried out in a Liverpool park where a teenager was shot on Saturday night.
Police officers paid close attention to several areas of Crown Street Park, swathes of which were protected by cordons today.
A sheet of tarpaulin covered a set of railings close to Queensland Street, where officers stood watch over the scene.
Footpaths, sections of grass and permanent gym equipment were behind stretches of blue and white police tape as detectives honed in on several areas of the park, which lies between Smithdown Road, the Women's Hospital and city centre University of Liverpool campus.
A wider area had initially been cordoned off but this was later reduced, allowing public access between the areas of police interest.
The searches followed the shooting of a 19-year-old man at around 8pm.
He was taken to hospital after being found with serious injuries.
The victim is reported to have been on seen on a push bike and arguing with two masked men before the shooting.
The men are thought to have left the scene on a bike via Crown Street.
Appealing for information on Saturday, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Smith said: “The fact shots have been fired will understandably shock those in the local community and beyond.
"We believe that people close to Crown Street, Smithdown Lane, and Crown Street car park will have seen or heard something tonight and may have dashcam footage which could identify the offenders.
“Whether you have descriptions of those involved, saw anyone running off, or hold CCTV, dashcam or other footage, come forward as soon as possible and we will take action.
"We understand the worry that people sometimes have when talking to police so whether you come forward directly or anonymously to Crimestoppers, tell us what you know.”
