Fingal County Council issue warning of flood risk due to high tides in north Dublin

Residents in north Dublin have been warned to be prepared for flooding in the areas surrounding coastal towns.

Fingal County Council have issued a high tide risk for the council area, particularly in Portmarnock, Sutton, Malahide, Rogerstown and Skerries.

They are warning that during high tide times the Irish Sea presents a flooding risk in the area.

High tide is expected at 10.43pm this evening, and at 11.10am tomorrow morning.

In a statement, Fingal County Council said: "HIGH TIDE WARNING: Residents and motorists in Portmarnock, Sutton, Malahide, Rogerstown and Skerries are asked to be aware of potential flooding around the High Tides at 22:43 tonight and 11:10 tomorrow."

Met Eireann is warning of more rain over the next 24 hours, with possible heavy showers at times.

There is also fog patches already developing across the capital, so be safe if you're going out driving.
