Fines for mask violations keep coming, this time for Pittsburgh Steelers

Per sources of ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL fined Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin a cool $100,000 for Week 8 mask violations. Additionally, the team was fined $250,000 for not wearing masks.

Tomlin has been diligent about his mask-wearing, but this offense took place after the game, per Noah Strackbein of Sports Illustrated. Tomlin joined his team on the field to celebrate the 28-24 win over the Ravens and had his mask down.

This comes after the Las Vegas Raiders and head coach Jon Gruden was penalized for extensive protocol violations. Vegas’ fine was hefty, and included a draft pick forfeiture, because they’ve disregarded guidelines on multiple occasions.

With the NFL hemorrhaging revenue due to restrictions on fan attendance, they have to make up some of that cost. This is a start.
