Fine for Dreghorn drunk who told woman her boys 'were getting murdered'

A Dreghorn man who told a woman that her “boys were getting murdered” and would “never f***ing see daylight” has been fined.

Mark Muirhead, of Broomlands Road in Dreghorn, had attended at the Irvine home of his parents where he started being aggressive towards two guests on July 23 last year.

Appearing before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week, the 24-year-old pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

The fiscal depute told the court how a witness had gone to the property at Gigha Terrace in Irvine at 10pm before Muirhead entered the house and started “aggressively pointing his finger in her face”.

The fiscal depute continued: “At this time another witness entered the living room and the accused started shouting ‘what the f*** are you doing here?’

“He pointed his finger in her face and stated ‘your two boys are getting murdered, your boys will never f***ing see day light’.”

The court heard that Muirhead then went out into the street where he paced up and down, swearing and kicking bins.

The fiscal added: “Police were contacted and when they arrived the accused was highly intoxicated.”

Muirhead’s defence agent Mr Muir said: “His recollection of events is very poor. “

Sheriff Jamieson fined Muirhead £240.
