On first impressions, Sarto doesn't look overly impressive.
Wooden benches and exposed brickwork result in a minimalist style - but then comes the food, which is up there with the very best in Leeds.
The simple menu is made up up of a short list of six or seven starters and the same number of main dishes due to the fact the chefs cook up fresh pasta every single day.
And the results are stunning.
The rigatoni with lamb shoulder and mint is out of this world, while the fetuccine with kale and almond pesto is a wonderful twist on an Italian classic.
Leeds has been crying out for a dedicated pasta restaurant for years, but it's now got one that sits firmly among one of the best eateries anywhere in the city.

The best bit is saved until last though, when the bill is brought out.
The cost for a starter, main dish and a drink comes to just a tad more than £15. Sarto could quite easily charge twice that amount and still be packed out every single evening, but the fact that prices are affordable is another string to the bow of this sensational new Leeds restaurant.
