James Dean will be brought back to life in a new movie using CGI, 64 years after his death.

The actor, who died in 1955, will appear in Finding Jack, a new action-drama about the Vietnam War, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Dean was 24 years old when he died in a car crash in Cholame, California.

He will appear in Finding Jack as a secondary lead character called Rogan.

“We searched high and low for the perfect character to portray the role of Rogan, which has some extreme complex character arcs, and after months of research, we decided on James Dean,” co-director Anton Ernst told The Hollywood Reporter.

Earnst added: “We feel very honoured that his family supports us and will take every precaution to ensure that his legacy as one of the most epic film stars to date is kept firmly intact. The family views this as his fourth movie, a movie he never got to make. We do not intend to let his fans down.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “full-body” CGI technology will make it possible to reconstitute Dean’s image thanks to photos as well as video footage.

Another actor will record his character’s voice.

Finding Jack, which focuses on the use of military dogs during the Vietnam War, is expected to be released on 11 November 2020, which will be Veterans’ Day in the United States.

Dean made uncredited appearances in several films before appearing in East of Eden (1955), Rebel Without A Cause (1955) and Giant (1956).
