Find out what Pat Fitzgerald said about Ohio State after the blowout loss

By all accounts and measures, Ohio State came into Evanston and dominated Northwestern on a wacky Friday night game — beating the Wildcats 52-3. It wasn’t so much a shock the Buckeyes won, but maybe in how easily the offense move the ball against what was considered to be a very solid defense.

For Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald, he was impressed after seeing the team live and up close that he made several comments about “tipping his cap.” But he had praise for Ohio State that went even further.

“In my opinion, the best team in the country,” Fitzgerald said during the postgame press conference. “I thought that before just watching film.”

He also was very complimentary of the defense calling it “as good as advertised.”

Fitzgerald’s comments might raise a few eyebrows ahead of the Buckeyes’ titanic clash with Wisconsin next week. Northwestern already played the Badgers, and If we’re comparing apples to well — Buckeyes or something, then you can read between the lines on who Fitzgerald believes is better.

“It’ll be a hell of a game,” said Fitzgerald.
