Financial Transactions And Travel Expenses In Fulton County Case

Fulton County Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade testifies during a hearing on the Georgia election interference case, Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, in Atlanta. The hearing is to determine whether Fulton Count

During the Corbin Fulton County case hearing, Nathan Wade testified about the financial transactions involving the law firm Wade, Bradley, and Campbell. Wade clarified that the income received from Fulton County in 2022 was deposited into an operating account established by the firm. After expenses were paid, the funds were split equally among the three partners. Once the firm dissolved, Wade received the funds in one of his personal accounts and then distributed them between himself and Attorney Campbell.

The questioning then shifted to the Novus operating account and the checks received from Fulton County. Wade confirmed that some of the checks from July 15, 2022, until May 26, 2023, were deposited into an account outside of Fifth Third Bank. The relevance of these financial transactions was raised, as Wade had previously filed an affidavit stating that he made $9,500 per month. The line of questioning aimed to establish a prior consistent statement.

Moving on to personal expenses, the court examined Wade's use of Mr. Bradley's credit card to pay for things with Miss Willis before his divorce filing in November 2021. Wade vehemently denied ever using Mr. Bradley's credit card or anyone else's. The court then presented bank records, specifically Exhibit 9, which Wade confirmed as his Capital One statements. The records showed charges for travel with Miss Willis, and Wade explained that he used his credit card to book the trips, but she reimbursed him in cash.

The court focused on two trips: Belize in March 2023 and California in May 2023. Wade clarified that the Belize trip was a birthday gift to him, and Miss Willis paid for the entire trip. Regarding the California trip, Wade used his credit card to book flights and a hotel, and Miss Willis's name was on the plane tickets. Wade stated that she paid him back for the expenses, including excursions in Napa.

However, when asked about a Miami trip that Miss Willis booked on her credit card, Wade admitted that he did not pay her back in cash for his half of the expenses. He explained that in their relationship, they would often take turns paying for meals, and it would balance out over time.

Overall, the hearing shed light on the financial transactions between Wade, Bradley, and Campbell, as well as Wade's personal expenses with Miss Willis. The court examined bank records and established the reimbursement process for travel expenses. The relevance of these transactions was questioned, but the court allowed the line of questioning to proceed. The hearing provided valuable insights into the financial dynamics of the individuals involved in the case.
