Financial Times appoints four new editors

The Financial Times has made a number of editorial appointments including Sue Matthias, former assistant editor at Independent on Sunday and deputy editor of the New Statesman, and ex-Observer travel editor Tom Robbins.

Matthias, the former acting editor of Guardian Weekend Magazine for a six-month period in 2009, joins as editor of FT Magazine, published with FT Weekend. Robbins will join as travel editor in June. James Crabtree, deputy editor of Prospect magazine, joins as comment editor. Edward Hadas, assistant editor at Reuters Breaking Views is to join as assistant Lex editor.

The new hirings follow the appointment of Caroline Daniel as the new editor of FT Weekend last month.
