What’s new: Wang Ou, vice chairman of China Renaissance Securities (China) Co. Ltd., will join financial giant China Everbright Ltd. as a member of the management decision-making committee and senior director of overseas investment, reporting to CEO Zhao Wei, Caixin has learned.
Background: Wang was an investment banker for the likes of JPMorgan and Johnson & Johnson early in his career, before returning to China in early 2002 to work for the China Securities Regulatory Commission.
He spent 13 years there before moving to China Investment Corp., the country’s sovereign wealth fund, to take charge of its private equity business. In 2019, he was appointed as vice chairman of China Renaissance Securities.
