'Finally' - Nottingham Forest fans will love this Derby County prediction

Nottingham Forest welcome rivals Derby County to the City Ground on Saturday looking to move within two points of Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion.

The Reds take on Phillip Cocu’s Rams in the day’s early kick off (12.30pm) knowing a win will move them level on points with second-placed Preston North End – temporarily at least.

Sabri Lamouchi will be hoping for more of the same against Derby as what unfolded in the Carabao Cup in August.

Forest eased to a 3-0 success that night and Lamouchi can take another step on their promotion push by adding to a difficult start at Derby for Cocu.

Former Reds midfielder, turned Sky Sports pundit, David Prutton, has given his weekly prediction – and is backing a home win.

“Is this the season Nottingham Forest finally put together a run at the top six? It has been far too long since a club of their stature seriously challenged for promotion after all,” he said.

“Derby were thumped by their rivals in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, and it really has been a difficult start for Phillip Cocu, both on and off the pitch.

“He can't really afford a big loss here but I don't think they will get anything either.”

Prutton predicts: 2-1
