'Finally, dreamland!' - Bristol Rovers fans happy as Charlton target Ali Koiki makes Gas move

It has been a long-running transfer saga, but Ali Koiki is now finally a Bristol Rovers player.

The 21-year-old wing-back has left Premier League side Burnley to join Ben Garner's Gas on an undisclosed contract following protracted negotiations

He has been strongly linked with a move to the Mem for some time, although he also attracted attention from Sunderland and was at one stage on the verge of joining Charlton Athletic.

However, talks with the Addicks broke down and he has instead opted for a move to Bristol to join the Gas.

It was not without drama though, with the deal seeming to be all but completed a week ago, only for unforeseen complexities to turn it into a drawn-out process.

But the deal has now finally been done, with Garner speaking of his delight at securing the coveted left-sided player.

And it is a signing that has gone down well with Bristol Rovers fans too, with many taking to social media to react to Koiki's arrival.

Here's what Rovers fans have been saying today following the announcement of the move.

Koiki was offered a new contract by Premier League Burnley in the summer, but it was rejected and the Clarets will be due compensation from the Gas.

The 21-year-old will bring pace and power on the left flank, competing with David Tutonda and Luke Leahy for the left-wing-back role in Garner's 3-5-2 formation.

Koiki played 15 games on loan at League Two champions Swindon Town last season.
