Chelsea were defeated for the first time in the Premier League this season, losing 1-0 to fellow title-chasers Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime.
Gabriel Jesus scored the only goal of the game early in the second half, his shot deflecting cruelly off Jorginho and into the back of net, giving the returning Edouard Mendy no chance.
It was an uninspiring performance from Thomas Tuchel's side for the most part. They were slower than their opponents and struggled to get either Romelu Lukaku or Timo Werner into proceedings.
One notable moment came in the second half. With more creativity needed in midfield, Tuchel turned not to new signing Saul Niguez but instead to Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The academy graduate's Chelsea career appeared to be on the decline but an impressive Carabao Cup display against Aston Villa may have forced a rethink.
Against City he impressed, too, showing plenty of slick touches and drive in the middle of the park, drawing comparisons to Zinedine Zidane from Blues fans in the process. While the comparisons may have been tongue in cheek - their praise for his performance certainly wasn't.
