'Finalised' - Matty Cash agrees terms on Nottingham Forest departure for Aston Villa - report

Speculation about Matty Cash’s imminent departure from Nottingham Forest continues to grow and it would appear his Premier League dream is about to be realised.

Earlier on Sunday it was reported Aston Villa were close to securing a £12m deal for the Reds’ Player of the Season.

Now, the Independent suggest personal terms have been agreed between Cash’s representatives and the Villa Park outfit, with both clubs finally agreeing on a £15m deal.

Forest had previously rebuffed Villa’s opening bids, along with that from Sheffield United, with the Championship club determined to see their asking price matched if they were to part with the fans’ favourite.

Fulham, Burnley, West Ham and Southampton have all been monitoring the situation, while Italian giants AC Milan saw a bid turned down in January.

The Reds have remained relaxed throughout the process, while the player has adopted the same philosophy.

Only when Forest’s asking price was met, would they consider doing business, and now it appears Cash’s final destination will be Dean Smith’s Villa.

Smith is looking for a new right-back this summer having alternated between Frederic Guilbert and Ahmed Elmohamady and Cash's performances for Forest last term have put him at the top of their shortlist.
