Final three-man shortlist for Arsenal's Player of the Season award announced

Arsenal have announced that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bukayo Saka and Bernd Leno are the three names in the running for their Player of the Season award.

The prize was won by Alexandre Lacazette last year, but there will be a new name of the trophy this time around as three of the most impressive figures of the Gunners' campaign go head-to-head.

Aubameyang may be considered the favourite for the award given how he has maintained his superb scoring record at the club.

The Gabonese striker narrowly missed out on winning the Golden Boot for a second season in a row but still managed an impressive 22 goals in the Premier League.

His future at the club is still up in the air, however, with his contract set to expire next June, and Gunners fans may consider voting for Aubameyang for Player of the Season in a bid to try to convince him to sign a new deal.

Saka, meanwhile, has been a revelation for the north Londoners. The 18-year-old left sided player has become a hugely important part of the first-team this season, making 38 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals and creating ten assists.

He looks to have a big future ahead of him, and could yet win his first major silverware if Arsenal can overcome Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

The final man in contention, Leno, was having a fine season in goal for the Gunners before his campaign was cruelly ended by injury during the 2-1 loss to Brighton in June.

He has now returned to full training, but is not expected to be fit in time for the cup final.

Fans can vote for their Player of the Season on Arsenal's official website in what could be a close-fought battle.
