Final score predictions for Washington vs. Broncos

Can the Washington Football Team (2-4) finally pick up a much-needed win on Sunday against the Denver Broncos (3-4)?

Washington has lost three games in a row — all by double digits. But, Washington has been in each of those games until the third quarter when offensive issues, whether it be turnovers, dropped passes, or boneheaded mistakes, cost the team multiple chances at a victory.

So, why could Sunday’s game be the perfect opportunity to head off into the bye week on a positive note?

Denver’s defense is excellent. However, the Broncos have shown a susceptibility to the run in recent weeks. Can Washington make Denver pay with a strong game from Antonio Gibson?

Well, first, Gibson needs to hang onto the football. He’s developed a fumbling problem. Regardless, you should expect Gibson to be a big part of Washington’s game plan on Sunday. And, that is a good thing.

Washington cannot rely solely on quarterback Taylor Heinicke. The Broncos have the type of defense that can frustrate Heinicke. He needs help. The WFT should find a way to get Gibson 20-25 touches while getting creative with players like J.D. McKissic and DeAndre Carter.

This game will come down to the wire, but Denver’s home-field advantage will be too much to overcome on Sunday as the Broncos’ passing offense will find some holes in the Washington secondary.

Washington falls to 2-6 on the season and has two weeks to prepare for the Buccaneers.

Broncos 24, Washington 20
