JAYDEN Brailey was desperate to get one over his little brother, Blayke, when the Knights accounted for Cronulla 26-22 in April
The lead-up was all about family rivalry - older brother v younger brother. Bragging rights.
Second time round, that is all out the window.
All that the Knights co-captain cares about when they meet again at Moreton Daily Stadium on Sunday is earning two competition points and continuing the tightrope walk to the finals.
"The first time we played Cronulla it was more about our rivalry, versing each other for the first time," Brailey said of the round-six contest against his former club. There was a lot of hype about it in the lead up.
"This time it doesn't matter who is out on the field. The most important thing is two points. We can't really be dropping any games from here on in. "
The Knights sit in ninth place on 20 points, behind the Titans and Raiders on for-and-against.
Brailey returns after being rested for the 28-20 win over the Broncos following a head knock.
"I hadn't missed any games prior to last week," the wholehearted 25-year-old said. "In the middle, it can be tough at times and I was pretty grateful to get the week off, and it was even better when the boys got the two points.
"We did a pretty solid session today and I felt really good. I was full of energy and really happy to be back out there."
Brailey's inclusion is on the back of a successful comeback by Mitchell Pearce and gives the Knights their first-choice spine for the second time this season. He teamed with Pearce, fullback Kalyn Ponga and five-eighth Jake Clifford in a 38-0 thrashing of the Cowboys five weeks ago.
"It makes my job a lot easier at hooker, having those weapons outside me," Brailey said. "Things might open up a little bit more for myself. It is the right time of the year to have everyone back with the finals around the corner. There are some pretty crucial games coming up to make sure we are part of the final series."
With Chris Randall deputising against the Broncos, Brailey had an opportunity to get a different perspective.
"When you are in the game - we call it the washing machine - you are under a lot of fatigue and everything is happening so fast," Brailey said
"You probably don't see everything as best you can. In the stands you can see little bits and pieces and where I would slot in.
"I thought Randy did a really good job stepping up at hooker. He was really strong defensively and his service was unreal.
"I did pick up a couple of things but the best thing is getting game time with one another. We haven't played a whole lot of games together due to injury unfortunately. Hopefully, over the next month we can play every game together."
As expected back-rower Lachlan Fitzgibbon has been ruled out with a shoulder injury.
Bradman Best (chest) has been named in the centres but will be monitored. Simi Sasagi is on the bench as cover.
Cronulla are two points behind the Knights on the competition ladder in 10th spot and are coming off a 18-16 defeat to the Warriors.
Former State of Origin centre Will Chambers paid the price for his over-the-top sledging - and missed tackles - and was dropped. Siosifa Talakai moves from the back-row to the centres in a reshuffled outfit.
The Knights are chasing three straight wins for the first time this campaign and Brailey is wary of a Sharks side that likes to "throw the footy around".
"We have to be on our toes defensively," Brailey said. "We have leaked more points than we would have liked in the past couple of weeks, even though we have won. That is something we need to improve."
