The last remaining pub on Scotland Road has gone up for sale.
The Throstles Nest is the sole survivor of the many community pubs that once thrived along the historic street, all of which have now vanished.
A sign prominently displayed on the front of the building says the business - comprising a four-star guest house, freehouse pub and dining room - is "for sale". However it is still open to customers while a new buyer is sought.

In addition to being a pub, the Throstles Nest operates an adjoining hotel with its own entrance. The business is up for sale for £650,000 or nearest offer..
The Throstles Nest has been run since 1984 by owner Kevin McMullen, who is 78 and has worked hard to keep the pub going as the sole representative of the many that used to line the road.
Speaking in 2014 to the ECHO, he said: "I was here when the area was thriving and I wanted to carry on here because the people of this area are predominantly good people. If I had closed the pub, that would have been the death knell for Scotland Road."
In his book, The Lost Tribe of Everton and Scottie Road, ECHO nostalgia columnist Ken Rogers drew on Kevin's knowledge of the famous pubs of "Scottie" and visited the Throstles Nest.
Ken said: "I initially sat downstairs in the pub itself and it helped me to conjure up an image of what those remarkable establishments must have been like in their hey-day. Scottie had a pub on every corner and while you were loyal to your street favourite, there was the option of the most fascinating pub crawl in the city without having to stretch your legs too far.
"Kevin regaled me with stories about the great characters of an iconic area that has suffered greatly down the years at the hands of the planners.

"But the Throstles Nest and Kevin's development of a remarkable hotel facility above the pub premises highlighted the fact that the people of Scottie remain inventive and inspirational. I hold my hands up to Kevin, one for keeping an iconic Scottie Road pub alive which is absolutely crucial, and the other for showing such ambition and vision to provide such an unusual and unexpected hotel option for city visitors."
