Final Premier League table predicted and it's bad news for Spurs but great news for Chelsea

As we venture into the hectic festive period, the Premier League is starting to take shape and, come the end of the month, a clear picture will have been crafted to show the battles that lie ahead.

With plenty of twists and turns on the horizon, predicting the final outcomes is a stern challenge - but data analysts FiveThirtyEight have risen to the occasion, sharing their predictions for the final standings.

At the top of the standings, it’s great news for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp’s side are predicted to win the title for the first time in three decades - finishing a relatively comfortable seven points ahead of Manchester City.

Beneath them, Leicester City’s tremendous campaign is expected to continue with the Foxes finishing third on 73 points, followed by Chelsea on 71 points - with Spurs eventually finishing nine points adrift.

There’s worse news for Manchester United and Arsenal though, who are tipped to finish 17 points and 19 points adrift of the Premier League’s top-four respectively - making it a campaign to forget.

At the bottom of the standings, Norwich City, Watford and Southampton are tipped to suffer relegation - with the latter set for Championship football despite hitting the magic 40 points mark for the campaign.

It’s therefore good news for Newcastle United, finishing a single point above the relegation zone, while Aston Villa, West Ham and Brighton all survive by the skin of their teeth.
