'Final developments' revealed in Nottingham Forest transfer deal - report

Nottingham Forest are expected to sign Benfica's David Tavares on a loan deal which will include an option to buy him.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha (via Sport Witness) report the "final developments" of the deal have taken place over the past few days, with the 21-year-old midfielder set to arrive at the City Ground initially on loan with a view to a permanent deal if he is a success at the club.

Tavares, who has been with Benfica since 2016, is thought to be under contract until 2024.

He has made 19 appearances for the club's reserves and two for the first team.

Last season, he recorded 11 outings in the Portuguese second tier and came off the substitutes' bench in a Champions League defeat to eventual semi-finalists RB Leipzig in a group stage match in September.
