Final 2020/21 Premier League table predicted as Liverpool and Tottenham miss out on title glory

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur currently lead the way in the Premier League.

However, despite being first and second respectively in the table, neither Jurgen Klopp nor Jose Mourinho have been tipped to add another winner's medal to their collection come the end of the season.

The first 13 games of the 2020/21 campaign have showed the race to be crowned champions of England will no doubt be an intriguing one.

As things stand, just six points separate Liverpool and Chelsea in seventh, while Manchester United are five points behind their bitter rivals and have a game in hand.

Jose Mourinho press conference after Liverpool defeat

With plenty of games to be played over the festive period, the Premier League table could look very different at the beginning of 2021, but the chances of the Reds running away with the title look very slim.

In fact, Liverpool have been tipped to fail in their quest to retain the trophy this season.

According to website FiveThirtyEight, Manchester City have been backed to reclaim the Premier League title with a 46% probability of clawing back an eight-point deficit to Klopp's side.

Pep Guardiola's side dropped points at home to relegation-threatened West Brom on Tuesday evening, but a simulated final league table has them finishing on 80 points - three clear of Liverpool.

The FiveThirtyEight website doesn't have Spurs as realistic title winners (6%) and has them finishing below Manchester United as well as London rivals Chelsea in the table come the end of the season.

Furthermore, they are tipping Mourinho's side to miss out on qualifying for the Champions League via their league finish for the second successive season.

But much can change in the coming weeks and months.

Simulated final 2020/21 Premier League table:

1. Man City

2. Liverpool

3. Man United

4. Chelsea

5. Tottenham

6. Leicester City

7. Southampton

8. Everton

9. Aston Villa

10. West Ham United

11. Wolves

12. Arsenal

13. Leeds United

14. Crystal Palace

15. Newcastle United

16. Brighton

17. Burnley

18. Fulham

19. Sheffield United

20. West Brom
