Filton cordon: Police hunting for two men with 'weapons'

Police are hunting for two men with 'weapons' as a busy Filton road has been closed all day (Thursday).

A cordon on Montreal Avenue has been in place since early in the morning, when several vehicles were damaged.

Officers from Avon and Somerset Police were called to the road at about 8.30am, and it is understood that no arrests have been made at this time.

A spokesperson said: “We’re investigating two incidents of criminal damage which took place on Montreal Avenue at about 8.30am this morning.

“A van and a car were deliberately damaged by two men with weapons.

“The road is currently closed while recovery of the vehicles is arranged.

“Efforts to locate the offenders are ongoing and enquiries continue.

"There was a flat bed lorry with all its windows smashed in and some glass on the road."
