Ainsley Maitland-Niles did reveal a couple of months ago that Gabriel Martinelli had been emulating some of Brazil's finest in Arsenal training.
Ronaldinho and Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar - for the current generation - are widely considered as two of the most skillful players to have ever graced the game and their chief trick is usually a 'nutmeg'.
And, according to Maitland-Niles, it would appear that Martinelli is trying his best to be in the same conversation with his compatriots one day.
"Martinelli loves a nutmeg," Maitland-Niles revealed in an 'Ask Me Anything' (AMA) session on Arsenal's official Twitch account. "He loves trying a nutmeg.
"It's in his DNA, he's Brazilian."
With that said, it's one thing to attempt nutmegs in training and a completely different scenario altogether to pull it off during a game with thousands in attendance and millions watching around the world.
During Arsenal's 2-0 win over West Ham United on Wednesday night, Martinelli was able to have his 'Ronaldinho-esque' moment and supporters absolutely loved it.
Clearly in a confident mood after breaking the deadlock a few minutes earlier, the Brazilian found himself surrounded by three Hammers players in his own half and there didn't seem to be a way out for him.
However, he brilliantly maneuvered his way out of the predicament by slipping the ball between Tomas Soucek's legs before passing to Thomas Partey to get Arsenal on the attack.
Of course, this moment has been clipped and uploaded to Reddit for fans to marvel over Martinelli's piece of skill.
