Filming for highly-anticipated new TV series takes place at Loch Lomond Shores

Filming for a highly-anticipated new TV series has been taking place on the shores of Loch Lomond.

Camera crews were at Loch Lomond Shores, which is set to provide the backdrop for scenes from new drama Annika.

Loch Lomond Shores revealed filming had taken place at the shopping complex on Twitter, and tweeted: “Last week was an exciting week at Loch Lomond Shores as we got to provide the backdrop for some scenes of the new major drama Annika which is being filmed in and around Glasgow. We can’t wait to see the finished results!”

The show, which stars Unforgotten lead Nicola Walker, is adapted from the successful Radio 4 drama and is based on brutal murders that wash up in the waterways of Scotland.

Olivier-award-winner Nicola Walker, who also starred in The Split and Unforgotten, will bring the main character DI Annika Strandhed to life. Walker also voiced Annika during the audio series.

Filming has also taken place by the Clyde in Glasgow, with Nicola Walker revealing to Graham Norton they had been shooting scenes on Loch Lomond.

She said: She said: “My favourite so far has been filming on and around Loch Lomond. It really doesn’t mess about, the landscape up here.”
