Filming for Bollywood blockbuster Blind gets underway in Glasgow

The cameras have begun rolling on a major Bollywood movie production in Glasgow - just weeks after Hollywood blockbuster Tetris wrapped up shooting in the city.

Blind, a Hindi remake of the 2011 Korean action film of the same name, stars Indian acting superstar Sonam Kapoor as a blind police officer searching for a serial killer.

The B-town diva - whose films include Neerja and Raanjhanaa - shared news of her arrival to Glasgow last week to prepare for filming to her 30.6 million Instagram followers.

Website Variety reports that principal photography began prior to Christmas for the shoot, which is a co-production between Kanai, AVMA Media, Rainbow Studios and Kross Pictures.

The movie is directed by debutant Shome Makhija, who worked as associate director on the 2019 Glasgow-set flick Badla.

Glasgow is currently in strict coronavirus lockdown, but film and TV production is still allowed to continue in the city as long as Covid-19 guidelines and protocols are followed.

Glasgow City Council's website confirms that on-street filming will begin on January 12 on Salkeld Street and wrap-up on February 1.
