Filming for BBC drama continues in Merchant City as vinyl shop transformed by ‘fire damage’

An area in Glasgow's Merchant City has been made to look like the aftermath scene of a fire for the filming of a new BBC Scotland Drama.

"This particular scene will look like the aftermath of a fire. There will be two fire engines parked on the road and extras dressed as firemen. There will also be a wetting down of the pavement and road.”

Staff at nearby Tribeca told Glasgow Live the record store front has been in place since Friday last week, but filming only begun yesterday (Monday). It is expected to last until this evening (Tuesday). TriBeCa will also feature as part of the filming.

Glasgow's Merchant City to be transformed as film crew take over for new BBC drama

There was no sign of actors Mark Bonnar (Catastrophe, Line Of Duty and Unforgotten) and Jamie Sives (Chernobyl, Frontier, Game Of Thrones) but it is believed they were on set later in the day.

Guilt follows the story of two disparate Scottish brothers Max (Bonnar) and Jake (Sives) who, while driving home from a wedding together one night, accidentally run over and kill an old man on a darkened street. After making the panicked decision to cover their tracks, the brothers seem to get away with their crime.

It's not the first time the Merchant City has been transformed for filming as Fast and Furious film crews took over the area last year, as did the BBC for filming drama The Cry.
