This week Jason Solomons goes thrillseeking with Pawel Pawlikowski, director of the Paris-set mystery The Woman in the Fifth, which stars Ethan Hawke as a down-on-his-luck American writer, and Kristin Scott Thomas as the beautiful Hungarian woman he becomes obsessed with.
Meanwhile, Guardian film writer Xan Brooks joins Jason in the studio to pick over the week's new movies, including Stephen Daldry's adaptation of Jonathan Safran Froer's 9/11 novel Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and Corman's World, a documentary about the cult director whose B-movie factory gave early starts to Jack Nicholson, Martin Scorsese and Dennis Hopper.
