In this Film Weekly extra Agnès Poirier visits the Turin film festival to explore how it is promoting and developing a new wave of political documentaries. Agnès speaks to director Giovanni Piperno about his documentary Il Pezzo Mancante, about the Agnelli family, founders of Fiat and one of Italy's most powerful dynasties. Agnès also meets the festival's deputy director, Emanuele Martin, to discuss Turin's love of the retrospective and why the works of John Huston are a feature of this year's event. Finally we hear reaction to the death of director Mario Monicelli, whose films rank as some of the great works of Italian cinema.
