Film Weekly asks Mark Ruffalo if The Kids Are All Right

This week Jason Solomons meets Mark Ruffalo to discuss his role in the very contemporary family comedy, The Kids Are All Right. The film tells the story of a lesbian couple, played by Julianne Moore and Annette Bening, who have two children from the same anonymous donor, played by Ruffalo. Their domestic bliss is upset by their children contacting their biological father, who turns out to be not what anyone expects.

Jason also meets the polyglot acting sensation that is Édgar Ramírez, who plays the infamous international terrorist 'The Jackal' in Olivier Assayas' epic biographical film Carlos. Edgar discusses the role of his life, and the pain and joy of inhabiting the skin of someone he fundamentally does not like.

Xan Brooks joins Jason to review some of this week's other releases including Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis in John Landis's Burke and Hare; peer pressure Swedish style in Involuntary; and Raffi Pitts' Iranian thriller The Hunter, in which revenge is best served cold and at a distance.

Enter our competition for the superb soundtrack to The Kids Are All Right which features songs from MGMT, Deerhoof, David Bowie, CSS and Little Dragon.
