Film show: 'The Banshees of Inisherin', or when you give your friend the finger

Film critic Lisa Nesselson speaks to Eve Jackson about the week's film news, including the dark and tragic "The Banshees of Inisherin", which is tipped for Oscars fame. Starring Dublin-born duo Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell, the new film from writer-director Martin McDonaugh, who also directed the pair in 2008's "In Bruges", addresses the question of what to do when you want to break up with a friend. The answer is quite extreme.

Lisa's picks of the week are an Icelandic historical drama set in the late 19th century, "Godland", and Nobel Prize-winning writer Kazuo Ishiguro's quietly devastating morality tale "Living", starring Bill Nighy and Aimee Lou Wood, which is set in 1950s London.

Finally, we mark the 90th birthday of one of Paris's most iconic movie theatres, the Grand Rex.
