Film crews stage 'raid' on Cunard Building

Film crews stages a 'raid' on Liverpool's Cunard Building at the Pier Head tonight, with fake SWAT teams seen storming the site.

One of the most iconic buildings in Liverpool was 'raided' by men dressed in black holding guns as part of filming.

The crews were filming what is believed to be a bank robbery scene, focused on the steps of the Cunard Building.

Green laser pointers could be seen on the outer walls of the building before a man in a black skull mask ran out of the site holding a plastic bag.

Merseyside Police were at the scene watching over the filming as people gathered around the site.

This isn't the first time the Pier Head has been used for filming - earlier this year the waterfront was transformed into a 'crime scene' as part of filming for a long-running BBC drama.

The realistic crime scene, being filmed as part of Silent Witness, included a massive blue-and-white forensics tent which was set up near the Museum of Liverpool.
