Film crews for BBC drama Salisbury spotted in Clevedon cul-de-sac

Film crews for a new BBC drama about the Salisbury Novichok poisoning have been spotted in a quiet Somerset cul-de-sac this week.

Filming got under way in Brookfield Walk in Clevedon for new three-part drama Sailsbury, which focuses on the impact the 2018 Novichok poisonings had on the local community.

Pictures show scenes involving military and police vehicles being filmed in the street, Somerset Live reports.

The series has also recently been shot at in Bristol.

Resident Denise Richardson, 51, said she received a letter last week to say her road would be shut off for the filming to take place.

She said: "The set was throughout the whole estate. It was complete chaos but was very exciting.

"There were army tents, military vehicles, CID, forensics and police and fire engines constantly going past.

"They have all gone now but they started dressing the road on Sunday and finished on Wednesday.

"They were constantly filming different scenes so it must be a central part of the story.

"It was a lot of excitement and the film crew were fantastic. It was very surreal though looking out of your kitchen window and seeing military, the police and forensics everywhere."

The cast is led by Anne-Marie Duff, who is joined by Rafe Spall, Mark Addy, Annabel Scholey, Johnny Harris and MyAnna Buring.

Writers Adam Patterson and Declan Lawn said: “It’s a privilege to be able to tell the story of people who were deeply affected by the events in Salisbury.

"During our months of research, we have been humbled to hear their stories, and to be able to tell them in this drama.”
