Film crew spotted in Salford filming brand new 80s drama

A film crew was spotted around Eccles Shopping centre today filming for a brand new Channel Four show.

It's thought the filming is set to only last a day - although it's possible the crew will move on to other locations in Salford.

A prop store was spotted last week selling VHS recorders and televisions from the 80s.

It is believed the 80s themed show is a five part series that will follow the impact of AIDS on three boys in 1980s London.

Written by multi-BAFTA Award winning writer Russell T Davies, the show is set to be aired this summer on Channel 4 according to Davies.

Previously titled ‘The Boys’ the show had to change its name thanks to streaming service Amazon’s mega hit of the same name.

Although none of them have been spotted in Eccles yet, an all star cast has been assembled for the show including, Stephen Fry, lead singer of pop group Years and Years, Olly Alexander, Keeley Hawes and Neil Patrick Harris.
