MANGALURU: The Dakshina Kannada district committee of the DYFI, has urged authorities to fill the potholes on the national highway from Surathkal to BC Road immediately, as it is poses a hazard for travellers.
The DYFI has warned of a protest, if action is not taken, and requested authorities to take action against the NHAI officials, for poor maintenance of roads, despite collecting toll fees.
The DYFI maintained that potholes on the national highway from Surathkal to BC Road are leading to frequent accidents. Two-wheelers are finding it hard to avoid the potholes. The agency that looks into the maintenance of the Surathkal-Nanthoor stretch failed to take up maintenance work before the monsoon, they stated, alleging that quality works have not been taken up near the Kullur bridge.
