Celtic are reportedly close to sealing a loan deal with an option to buy for Benfica winger Filipe Jota.
The Portuguese emerged as a transfer option for Ange Postecoglou towards the end of last week.
And now reports in the wide man's homeland claim negotiations to bring him to the Scottish Premiership are at an advanced stage.
A loan agreement has apparently been reached for the 22-year-old and Celtic will have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season for a fee of around £6.5million.
Its thought Jota could be a long term replacement for Ryan Christie, who’s deal expires in January with an unsigned new offer still on the table.
Should a deal be struck for Jota then that could see Christie move on before Tuesday night’s deadline.
Jota spent last year on loan at Spanish outfit Valladolid and Benfica are keen to send him out on loan again to get more experience.
However, if they can cash in on him following a successful season away from Lisbon, then they will.
He was a member of the European Championship-winning Portuguese under 19 squad back in 2018, finishing the tournament as joint-top scorer with five goals.
