Rangers look set to be handed a boost ahead of the weekend's trip to face St Johnstone with Filip Helander set to start for Sweden.
It had been expected that the centre back could miss out on the clash with Greece after picking up a knock in the 2-1 win over Spain last weekend.
Sweden boss Janne Anderson had admitted he was a major doubt after spending the start of the week training on his own in the gym.
But reports in Sweden now suggest Helander will take his position at centre back alongside Victor Lindelof as Sweden look to all but clinch a World Cup playoff place.
They currently sit second but could actually move ahead of Spain at the top of the group while also going well clear of Kosovo in third place.
Helander was used as a sub during Euro 2020 after an injury suffered towards the end of last season so will be desperate to make it to the World Cup.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will now be watching on closely to discover if the Ibrox centre back plays and makes it through the 90 minutes against Greece.
Swedish outlet Sportbladet say Helander will play with just two changes expected for Sweden.
