Filip Helander explains the Rangers strategy that 'will win the league'

Filip Helander has finally broken ranks as he detailed the Rangers 'one game at a time' strategy that will win them a long anticipated league.

The Ibrox club are now eight wins away from securing their first championship in a decade and ending rivals Celtic's domination of Scottish football.

And while Helander continued the noises coming out of the Govan club's camp about taking each match as it comes, he went further than most in admitting a continuation of the plan will lead to glory.

He told Sky Sports: "We are playing well as a team. It's easy to come in and perform and do your bit for the team because we all know what we need to do on the pitch.

"It's like I said before, we take one game at a time and if we do that then we will win the league.

"Just one game at a time and that's it. Sorry for the answer."

Helander only returned to the team last week against Ross Couty and was a stand-out against a Hibs team who manager Jack Ross set up to attack.

He said of the performance: "Everyone sacrifices themselves for this team. We are a a good group. We have to keep continuing. The game was three very important points.

"The clean sheet was very nice. It's something we defenders talk about and it's an extra privelidge."
