Fikayo Tomori left Chelsea on loan in the January transfer window, but the question will now be whether he will return to Stamford Bridge.
The 23-year-old broke into the Blues team under former head coach Frank Lampard last season, but fell down the centre-back pecking order following the arrival of Thiago Silva last summer.
As a result, Tomori was allowed to depart Chelsea for AC Milan - albeit on loan in order to get regular first-team minutes under his belt during the second half of the season.
So far, he made four appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri, including three in Serie A as Stefano Pioli's side find themselves in a title battle with rivals Inter Milan.
Such has been Tomori's impressive start to life in Italy, there has been talk of a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
It was reported after the loan deal was announced that Milan have an option to buy the defender for £25m.
But will Tomori consider making the switch?
Well, he has been asked about his future, whether it be a return to Chelsea, or a San Siro stay, and it's safe to say he is not giving too much away at this point.
"There was nothing much to think really. Once I switched to Milan it was all about Milan," he told the BBC. "Whatever happens at Chelsea, happens at Chelsea."
With that said, Tomori has already decided his next move following his AC Milan loan spell - and that is to be included in Gareth Southgate's England squad for this summer's Euro 2020 tournament.
"I'd be lying if I said I'm not thinking about it, of course I am," he added.
"But at the moment I'm taking it game by game, week by week and hopefully at the end of the season I have a Scudetto and I'm in the England squad."
Interestingly, Tomori's temporary Chelsea exit was confirmed a few days before Lampard was sacked.
And new head coach Thomas Tuchel has switched to a back three that could benefit Tomori if he decides to return to west London at the end of the season.
Furthermore, the Blues' hopes of bringing in a new central defender have been dashed following the Dayot Upamecano to Bayern Munich transfer announcement.
