Goalkeeper Arijanet Muric is prepared to “fight for the number one spot” after signing for Nottingham Forest.
The 20-year-old has penned a season-long loan deal at the City Ground from Premier League big guns Manchester City, and is aiming to get plenty of game time in the Garibaldi.
Muric made his debut for his parent club last season in the Carabao Cup, having been recalled early from a loan deal at NAC Brada.
He went on to play a key part as Pep Guardiola’s side triumphed in the competition, saving two penalties in a quarter-final shootout with Leicester City.
And now he is eager to continue his progress with the Reds, in what will be his first taste of Championship football.
The Kosovo international’s arrival gives new head coach Sabri Lamouchi a decision to make when it comes to selecting his first-choice shot-stopper.
Costel Pantilimon kept 15 clean-sheets in the league last term, while Forest also currently have Luke Steele and Jordan Smith on their books.

But Muric is determined to make an impact.
“I’m very happy to be here and to spend some time with my new teammates, and I hope we can achieve a lot this season,” he told the official club website.
“I know the Championship quite well, I spent a lot of time watching it on TV last season and I know it’s a really tough league.
“I’m here to fight for the number one spot in the team and to make sure I have some game time.
“I’m very excited that the season is so close now.
“We need to have a strong pre-season to make sure we’re fit and ready for the first game of the season.”
