In Spain, desertification is silent. But year after year, erosion eats up vegetation. If nothing is done, two thirds of the country could become desert before the end of the century. Some inhabitants are fleeing to cities in search of a better future, while others are determined to fight back. In the southern Almeria and Murcia regions, initiatives have been launched to curb deforestation and protect the local biodiversity. Our Spain correspondents Mélina Huet and Sarah Morris report.
