Welcome to Dan Tom’s “Fight Vault,” where MMA Junkie’s resident fight analyst delves into the archives to select his top five.
Today we look at the top five rematches of all time in anticipation of the UFC 241 headliner between heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and the man he beat to take the belt, Stipe Miocic, who now meet for the second time.
It makes sense to revisit this list again this week because it also includes a classic of Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz at UFC 202. Diaz hasn’t fought again since that August 2016 clash, though he finally returns again at UFC 241, which takes place at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
Also on the list are Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate at UFC 168 and a Strikeforce gem from 2009 between Gilbert Melendez and Josh Thomson. But do any of those take the No. 1 spot on the list?
Watch the countdown in the video above.
