Police have launched an appeal after violent disorder broke out between a group of football supporters which is suspected to include Cardiff City and Newport County fans. The disorder, which happened on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at around 11.40am, took place on the platform at Swindon railway station.
British Transport Police have released images of nine individuals they believe could help them with their investigation. A statement from British Transport Police said: "A group of football fans began fighting and punches, bottles, cans and others items were thrown by both sets of fans. One of the bottles narrowly missed a police officer.
"At the time of the incident the station and platform were extremely busy with football supporters of Cardiff City and Newport County and also members of the public. Officers would like to speak to the men in the images as it is believed they may have information that could help the investigation."
