Fight for life after sword attack

A 20-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life after being attacked in Salford by a gang armed with swords.

The victim and his friend, both from Liverpool, were assaulted at a house party in Lower Kersal, at 2.15am on Saturday.

One man fled out of the back of the house but was chased by the gang who continued to assault him. He is in a critical condition in Fazakerley Hospital.

A 27-year-old man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and one of violent disorder in connection with the incident. He was due to appear at Salford Magistrates court today.

A 16-year-old man from Salford has been arrested in connection with this incident

No further action was taken by the Crown Prosecution Service in connection with this matter.
