Fight breaks out between hikers in long queues to reach Snowdon summit

A scuffle broke out between two hikers at the Snowdon summit over the August bank holiday weekend.

A video taken by a hiker and posted on TikTok shows lengthy queues to reach the trig point at the summit itself.

But one walker decided to skip the waiting crowds and clamber up to the summit another route.

The footage shows a brief altercation between two men at the top, who can be seen pushing one another.

One is wearing a high vis jacket while the other appears to be in a Manchester United shirt.

The queueing crowds then begin to chant 'Join the queue' at the man, while another woman can be heard saying: "There's a queue!"

Kenan Ramsay filmed the incident and captioned it 'Don't do it'.

Snowdon is the highest in England and Wales and attracts more than half a million visitors every year.

It's also one of the hills involved in the popular Three Peaks challenge.

The incident took place just days after Welsh tourism leaders reminded people to be respectful of the Snowdonia National Park.

An open letter published last week warned against 'fly-camping' after a 'significant and worrying increase' in the number of people camping outside designated campsites.

The area has also struggled with inappropriately parked vehicles in recent weeks following a surge in the number of visitors post-lockdown.
