Fight breaks out after teenager chases down arsonists who targeted allotments in a Bury suburb

A fight broke out at the front of a house in Bury after arsonists started a blaze at an allotment.

Police say a fire started on land off Scobell Street, in Tottington, at around 9pm.

A teenager confronted the offenders and chased them on foot and a fight then broke out, Greater Manchester Police said.

Officers are investigating after the offenders fled from the scene.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 9pm on Thursday, February 20, police were called to a report of arson in Tottington.

“The offenders attacked an allotment in Scobell Street, in Tottington.

“An 18-year-old man chased after them and a fight broke out in the front of a property.

“The offenders fled from the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

A man was taken to hospital by paramedics.
