Fight breaks out across two lanes on busy M6 after crash

A fight broke out across two lanes on a busy motorway after a crash.

Police had to be called to the M6 following the altercation on the Thelwall viaduct in Cheshire, near junction 20.

The fight started on the northbound carriageway at around 4.30pm following a road traffic collision, police said.

It took place across lanes three and four of the road, the Daily Post reports.

Both lanes had to be closed after the incident which caused long delays for motorists travelling home after the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

But North West Motorway Police blasted drivers who ignored the lane closures.

They warned people who contravened signs that they will be hearing "from officers in coming weeks".
