A 52-year-old fighter replaced his son in an MMA fight only to be disqualified for biting his opponent.
Mateusz Muranski was scheduled to fight Arkadiusz Tancula at Fame MMA 12 last weekend at the Ergo Arena in Gdasnk, Poland.
The two fought in May when Tancula spoiled the professional debut of Muranski by winning via unanimous decision.
The rematch was then in jeopardy when Muranski was unable to compete, but in a dramatic turn of events his father, 52-year-old Jacek Muranski, filled in.
Unlike a typical MMA cage, the event had a 9ft x 9ft cage for the main event which was scheduled for five two-minute rounds.
Tancula had a big size advantage against Muranski and used it to his advantage in the first round, knocking down the 52-year-old with a flurry of right hands.
Muranski managed to get back to his feet and clinched up with Tancula to avoid being finished.
A battered and bloodied Muranski managed to make it to the fourth round, but the fight was stopped when Muranski bit Tancula on the shoulder and repeatedly grabbed the cage.
Tancula, 32, made his MMA debut in 2019 and has since gone 4-1 in his professional career.
Four of his fights have taken place under the Fame MMA banner, last knocking out Marcin Malczynski in October before his win over Muranski.
Tancula left the cage after his disqualification win and Muranski - who needed a shoulder sling after the fight - gave an interview but was booed by the Gdansk crowd.

And before his short-notice fight at Fame MMA 12, Muranski called for a fight with popular Polish rapper 'Popek'.
"Popek is Judas. Popek is shot. But why? Because I finally have the documents. Well, Popek is a Judas," he said.
"This is just a regular junkie. This is zero. It has no synapses. This is ordinary garbage, stoned garbage. It no longer works in the normal world."
Former two-time runner up at Europe's Strongest Man and two-time Poland's Strongest Man Krzysztof Radzikowski also fought at the Fame MMA 12 event.
Radzikowski lost a three-round decision to professional bodybuilder Piotr Piechowiak, who picked up the third win of his career on the night.
