Don’t start screaming yet, but the trailer for Fifty Shades Darker with Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan has just arrived. Both Christian Grey (played by Jamie) and Anastasia Steele (portrayed by Dakota) turn up the heat in the almost two-minute clip.
A day after the teaser and film poster made an appearance, the trailer – dark, sexy, mysterious and sultry – opened to fireworks on Tuesday. Christian and Anastasia have reunited after that fight at the end of the first movie, and they are back in sado-masochistic heaven.
The trailer, in a particularly seductive scene, shows hunky businessman Christian making Anastasia wear a masquerade mask. But their temporary bliss is interrupted by the return of certain shadowy figures from Christian’s past, promising plenty of drama.
While Monday’s 19-second teaser provided fans with a glimpse of Ana’s glamorous mask and a dramatic masquerade ball, the following day’s trailer gave them an extended look at the escalating and complicated romance between chaste college grad Anastasia and BDSM-loving Christian. Based on the 2012 bestselling novel by British author EL James and helmed by director James Foley, Fifty Shades Darker follows 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey – which grossed $570 million worldwide.
Revolving around certain issues that Anastasia and Christian face as their relationship grows more serious, the 1.59-minute-long trailer promises a movie sexy enough to rival its predecessor. Look out for glimpses of masks, fireworks, Anastacia’s legs, and the lady saying huskily: “This time, no rules, no punishments, and no secrets.”
Fifty Shades Darker whips into theatres only on Valentine’s Day 2017. So, for now, the best you can do is watch the movie trailer on repeat. It’s below:
