Fife Zoo fire: Firefighters race to tackle blaze at Scottish farm

Fire crews have rushed to Fife Zoo after a blaze broke out at the attraction this afternoon (July 18).

Scottish Fire and Rescue have confirmed that they have sent four appliances to tackle the blaze which is understood to be affecting a barn, a caravan, and a car.

Smoke was seen billowing from the zoo at Birnie Feild, near Cupar at around 12.32 pm.

It is understood that no one has been injured in the blaze and fire crews remain at the scene.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.32pm on Sunday, July 18 to reports of a building fire at Birnie Field, Collessie, Fife.

“Operations control mobilised four appliances to the scene where a fire was affecting a barn, a caravan and a car.

“There are no reported casualties at this time, and crews remain in attendance.”
