Fife fairytale treehouse offers an overnight stay with a difference

We’ve all at least seen or even owned a treehouse, but what would you expect if you were to spend a night in the “best treehouse ever?”

Well it apparently exists, and it’s in Fife.

The “Fairytale tree house” situated in the grounds of Fernie Castle near Letham between Edinburgh and Dundee, is certainly a step up from something your dad might have put together from scrap wood in the back garden – unless he too included a balcony and a king sized bed.

Perched across six sycamore trees, the structure features copper roof tiles that appear to grow from the trees.

A flight of stairs up too the fairy-lit balcony affords access through stained-glass double doors in to the bedroom, which is full of handmade furnishings.

Climb further up the inside of what appears to be a hollowed out tree, and you’ll reach a bathroom complete with a chandelier made of leaves and flowers that overhangs the slipper bath tub.

5pm.co.uk is offering the chance to have a night away with a difference up in the branches for two people.

Within your tree top accommodation will be a chilled bottle of Prosecco, beers, soft drinks, chocolates, a fruit basket, cheese board, biscuits and the necessary ingredients of a continental breakfast all included in the price.

Rather that sit cross-legged reading comic books to keep yourself entertained, this canopy dwelling has a flat screen TV, DVD player, coffee maker, fridge, heating system, telephone and an alarm in case any unwanted climbers should appear.

Also included is a four-course table d’hote dinner in Fernie Castle itself.

Prices start from £200 and can be purchased from 5pm.co.uk.
